Collaboration

3.3 Working collaboratively on your film production

Teamwork with the rest of the crew came really easily to me. This was due to the friendly yet professional nature we took with each other. Some specific examples were when I was closely together with follow sound operator each of us switching between monitoring the sound levels and handling the equipment or when I when I was listening to the guidance of the director in what to to next in how to position myself in relation to the camera operators.

There was only ever minor issue during the production which happened when what I consider friendly conversation might have come across as bit incentive, to elaborate I commented on the strange sound that was peaked up on the recorder when the interviewee was talking, luckily she wasn’t insulted but the crew afterwards commented on what I said and I took that information to heart. This honest communication from the crew was instantly appreciated which made me make sure I din’t make the same mistake again.

In terms of improving I believe I need to have more experiences with communicating with more people, possibly industry professionals as to get a better experience to put towards in the future.
