Health and Safety

4.1 Health and safety practice

Health and safety practice helps in general to reduce risk and accidents that may cause damage to equipment and personnel. When it comes to film production you have variable amount of situation which you have to contend for, for example tripping over your own equipment and injury yourself or other members of the crew and the public.

To make sure we could minimise the risk and form counters to them we filled out a risk assessment. When considering all the risks the most important thing to consider was the location of the shoot, that being a gym. The main worry was how to work around all the activity and be able to respect that members of the gym were going about there day.

The solutions we came with is firstly making it clear we are filming by posting sign at the front of the gym noting that filming is in progress, next is having them sign permission forms and finally is being respectful of there personal space.
