Review your technical skills and use of equipment

1.4 Review your technical skills and use of equipment

I agree with the feedback of my performance over the project, I believe I worked well in the team with good communication and creative input. I think my role in production was carried out well as all shots we had planned were taken. I think my strengths lay in ideas for shots and prioritising which were more important. A challenge whilst filming that I and we faced as a group was the use of the stabiliser. As operating the stabiliser was new to the whole group, it was very time consuming to obtain shots we needed but this challenge was solved during the day.

My technical skills during the production of the film have drastically improved. As well as now having a basic understanding of aspects of film such as sound and editing, I also have improved my technical knowledge of using multiple cameras to film at once and have gained experience with different kit.

Reviewing the footage has taught me that organising time and have a structured shot list is key to efficient post production. Labelling all footage on the hard drive whilst reviewing also proves very helpful during the edit. Conveying which shots you feel work best to the team is also helpful as being the person filming, you will know the footage.

I hope to develop ideas and content generation and specifically scripting for documentary such as questions. I would also like more experience in generating shot lists as I believe this creative process is important.
