Working Culture of the Film Industry

2.1 Explain the working culture of the film industry

Working in the film industry is a very rewarding job that allows people to be creative in a team and continuously have finished products to mark their success. However it is a very competitive industry to get into and once you’re in there still remains a lot of high pressure with time management and the obstacles that come up during the filmmaking process.

Qualities such as dedication and self motivation are essential to be able to work in the film industry as you will face criticism and long hours. Lots of work in film is also freelance so self motivation and perseverance are necessary to get work done and seen. Other qualities such as good communication, professionalism and friendliness are also really important when working in teams due to the large number of people you will be working with.

I have learnt that the working culture of the industry can be hard and difficult to succeed in but very rewarding when things come together. People who work in the film industry need to have lots of personal initiative and over skills to make sure they work well in teams and under time limits and if very one on a production team is able to work well in these ways the process is manageable and enjoyable.
