WORKING PRACTICES

4.1 Health and safety practice

Health and safety is important because it ensures the production goes smoothly without chance of injuring crew members or contributors, it means everyone on set is comfortable and safe in their working environment.

Key safety issues relating to film includes damaged caused by heavy equipment, potentially dangerous filming locations and being weary of  members of the public.

We created risk assessments and location recess to help the shoot stay organised and maintain a safe environment, they keep the shooting day in order and predict any possible problems and actions we can take to prevent them.

Our risk assessment is important as it helps in an event of any possible dangers, it also gives guidance in case of these outcomes and displays steps that can help prevent them.

4.2 Explain why copyright is important in the film industry

Copyright refers to the reproduction or taking of other people’s creative bodies of work, it refers to protection for any type of media made by a person. When properly stated that any copyright is against the creators permission that work is their intellectual property and is not allowed to be recreated or stolen.

Copyright law exists to protect creators own work that has been made by them and make sure no one is unfairly credited for something they didn’t make.

Work covered by copyright include any creative media form such as art, music, film, dance, television and literature.

Copyright material being used without permission can lead to varying problems depending on whos intellectual property it is, it can go as far as legal issues such as paying a fine.

By properly crediting or asking permission to use any material not made specifically by you you can make sure not to infringe copyright laws.

Copyright law affects our film in forms of music as we had to ask permission from the creator to use certain songs.
