Working Relationships

3.1 Teamwork

Team work is very important in film production because everybody has different jobs and responsibilities. Film tends to be a collaborative project that involves job roles such as directing, producer, actors, etc.The director tends to be the one in charge of a film, therefore the whole team has to act upon the directors demands. When the camera rolls, almost everybody should have a job to do. If a film production didn’t have good teamwork, things could easily go wrong and the aims of the film wouldn’t be fully met. For example, if the camera operator and the director didn’t work together to get the right camera angles, there could be arguments in post production.

3.2 Qualities needed to work well with others

Timekeeping was key for me because I had five different jobs in this production. So therefore I asked the producer when I’m needed for certain times of the day. I didn’t want to rush and not do my job properly. I was reliable because I was on time for both shooting days. Also I was reliable because I concentrated all day. The camera team and I used great team work the film camera properly and we had to swap the role of camera operator because it is a hard job. Also Sophia and I worked very well together on hair and makeup, she did half the actors and I did the other half. When it came to sharing ideas, I was very vocal in our group. I was a good listener to other peoples ideas and I tired to bounce off their ideas as well. I was very safe when it came to health and safety because there was lots of electrical equipment on the floor.

3.3 Working collaboratively on your film production

I worked very well with the crew because everybody gets on well with each other and we all knew our objectives and aims for the film so therefore everybody just got on with it. I worked well with Sophia in the acting scene we had together because she helped me rehears my lines and give constructive feedback. Both of us did hair and makeup so therefore we worked very efficiently together. The only problem we had in those two days was when I froze up on camera, but Sophia and Jachur was kind enough to help me loosen up. I could improve my ability to work with others by having less jobs so I could focus on one or two particular aspects.
