1.2 Take a role in the production of a short film

Actor, Cameraman and Editor

I have been given the role of the man in the advertisement for the ‘INCUBUS’ product and I have over a page of script to perform towards the camera.

For acting, I need to practice my naturalistic acting and focus on character development. Listening to the directors instructions and look presentable.

I need my costume to fit and resonate with what my characters persona and learn my lines.

I would need my script with all the lines and stage directions highlighted

Well done Andrea, you have successfully outlined your current interests and skills in film and how you would like to develop these through the Academy. Great to see you’ve added examples of your work as well. Your photography work really creates an atmosphere and I would love to see you apply this skill to the short film you make at the academy. You have achieved this criteria towards showing your skills development through the course. Well done.

Andrea, well done for making a start on researching and reflecting on your role in production. Can you write about your role in the camera team? What equipment will you be using? Who will you be working with? What skills do you need to have? What different tasks will you be doing? You can talk about your role taking production stills and filming behind the scenes footage as well. Thanks!

Andrea here and in your production diary you have given an insightful account of the various roles you took during the production of Incubus, including actor, make-up artists, camera operator and photographer. You have demonstrated that you can take a role in the production of a short film and make an excellent contribution in multiple areas. Section 1 Be able to develop technical skills to meet film production requirements is complete!
