I am interested in becoming a filmmaker, particularly within the comedy/drama genre, however I am fascinated with the making of…

My Production Role

Location sourcing was essential, hence why Imole and I did reckies for some skate parks and ensured we had the correct licencing for the equipment we were using i.e. drones. We needed a contributor as our main focus, we soon decided on Nathan, who is also a member of our team, as he had such an interesting story to tell. We needed the correct equipment such as boom (and poll), clip mics, tripod, extra batteries for the camera etc. My production role was one of two Producers. This entailed writing the treatment for our documentary, scouting locations, completing risk assessments, scheduling, money and time management, and on set ensuring these times were kept to and ensuring consent forms were filled in if needed. This role required precise organisational skills, time management and enthusiasm. To carry out this role it was important that my writing was eloquent and legible in both the treatment and risk assessments, as well as my ability to oversee and organise other documents such as the shot-list and the development document that recorded our process.
