Learning from Masterclasses
Name – Max
Jobs – Producer and Director
He interestingly decided on this career path in his early thirties and managed to form a relatively successful career working on documentaries for media giants such as the BBC. He started his path by takeing a film industry course at uni, once he finished that he did freelance runner work for anyone who was offering. He also advice to check if you and friends, family or friends of the family who are in the industry as nepotism as its a great jumping of point as they will be partly invested in your career as you are. In terms of how I could apply this to myself I actually briefly attempted trying to find any runner work in London and through this I discovered my Aunt knew a freelance cinematographer who was a friend. He gave me advice and expressed interest in offering work when I was back in London. So I believe unless I find a possible other apprenticeship to bolster up my skills scheme it may be wise just to jump into the professional industry and gain raw experience and possible career path.
Well done Kyriakos your learning from masterclasses shows evidence of developing understanding for all criteria in section 2.
